DINNER IN AN INDIAN FAMILY HOME
Krishna Kumari is the daughter of the Maharaj of Khandu, Rajasthan. They are Sisodia Rajputs from the Mewar Dynasty which can trace their ancestry back to Maharana Pratap of Udaipur.
Although part of their palace is still standing, some 40 years ago all the surrounding villages and lands were absorbed into a dam. In spite of the purdah system the clan has a reputation for educating their daughters and Krishna is convent educated.
Krishna married into the Peelwa (Johdpur) family and settled in Jaipur. She has 3 daughters and 1 son, all of whom are married. She has 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Dinners are hosted by Krishna personally and held in her home, during which she will entertain with stories and anecdotes about the changes that have taken place in India during her life. Krishna loves to cook and the dinners will comprise a welcome drink and a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes using authentic old recipes, modified to the European taste.
Up to 10 people can accommodated. Advance bookings are essential.
